Description
MAC’s fresh chicken & insect
Complete food with a lower purine content for dogs with high purine levels or diseases such as leishmaniasis.
Purines are components of proteins that are broken down into uric acid during metabolism. If excess purines are not processed or excreted properly, high purine levels can build up in the blood. This can lead to kidney stones, gout, rheumatism, and heart or metabolic problems.
Leishmaniasis is caused by parasites of the genus Leishmania, which are transmitted through the bite of infected sand flies. They attack the cells of the immune system and can cause serious health problems. Since the parasites feed on purines, a sick dog should be fed a low-purine diet.
MAC’s Low Purine can support digestion and muscle development with low purine content. The lean and fresh chicken and soldier fly larvae have low purine and protein content . In addition, excessive fillers and additives are avoided to keep the purine content low and provide high-quality food.
